Ekrona Project Documentary Film.

The central bank of Sweden works to find a suitable and beneficial application of blockchain technology for the central bank and for the people of Sweden.

Synopsis:

Around the world governments and corporations are fighting to keep up with new technological breakthroughs, blockchain is just one of those technologies but it could be the most disruptive technology the global financial system has experienced since the introduction of the blessed bank note. From Venezuela to Latvia, financial and government institutions are rallying around this new technology in hope of harnessing its wide reaching and socially impactful potential.

In this documentary film, we follow one such institution closely; the central bank of Sweden – Sveriges Riksbank, as they work to find a suitable and beneficial application of blockchain technology for the central bank and for the people of Sweden. Established by Dutch-Latvian Johan Palmstruch in 1668, Sveriges Riksbank is often considered by many as the world’s oldest central bank.

About BitJoin

BitJoin was started at the end of 2014, the aim was to use video interviews to bring cryptocurrency projects and startup ideas that were being developed by entrepreneurs out of the dark and in to the light, with the goal of opening up the space for more dialogue with regular folk.

Starting with Mathias Sundin of Folkpartiet, widely known as the worlds first politician to run on bitcoin only donations, producer Rich Tella went on to interview numerous entrepreneurs active in the space in several countries across Europe.

With follow up interviews conducted years later with six of the Swedish entrepreneurs first interviewed, the documentary short entitled ‘Founded’ was produced in early 2017.

In late 2017 we interviewed Andreas M. Antonopoulos at the Internetdagarna event in Stockholm, as well as capturing his talk at Svenska Bitcoinföreningen

In early 2018 BitJoin.Me expanded in to BitJoin.Us with the addition of communications veteran Jonas Bergvall, together Rich and Jonas offer marketing communications and media production services aimed at companies both working inside, and entering into the crypto space.
